Melanie's Picks: Spring Trench Coats

Posted on Apr 01, 2018

It's trench season! I've always thought of the trench as the ultimate hijabi go-to. It's modest, chic and makes you look put together in seconds. Over the years I've collected tons of trenches and really learned what lengths and styles look best on my body type. Enjoy 30 trench coats for every body type and style aesthetic!

The Classic Trench

One || Two || Three || Four || Five

When you think "Trench Coat" you probably think one of these varieties - a khaki or caramel colored, double-breasted beauty with lots of notches, buckles and buttons. There were so many great classic finds that I've shared my top ten. (P.S. the trench I'm wearing in my latest instagram post is #2, below)

One || Two || Three || Four || Five

The Pastel Trench

One || Two || Three || Four || Five

Looking for something different? Try a pastel trench that will take you into spring seamlessly. It's a total statement piece, just throw on a pair of jeans and you're good to go.

The Dark Trench

One || Two || Three || Four || Five

I'm all about the dark trench (I'm drooling over #4) - it's sophisticated and you can achieve a great monochromatic look with matching pants.

The Waterfall Trench

One || Two || Three || Four || Five

The waterfall trench is *perfect* for pear and banana body types because it adds bulk to the top part of your body. If you're heavier on top, an apple or hourglass shape, this probably isn't the look for you. (I LOVE waterfall *anything* but they're very hard to work on my body type that's heavier on top).

The Novelty Trench

One || Two || Three || Four || Five

Looking for something totally different? Try a denim or check plaid trench or get real extra in vinyl or satin. (See how I worked my satin trench here & here).

What's your fave trench? Let me know in the comments below and let me know what other Melanie's Picks posts you'd like to see!
