Recently Ahmed and I visited the Waldorf Astoria NYC for a fun-filled day of lunch at Peacock Alley and indulgence at Guerlain Spa! I wore this neutral-palette ensemble that was perfect for the day!
I got the white cropped lace top from Miss Selfridge back in Dubai. It's since sold out, but I found a really great alternative here. Here, here, here (of course this will need a full-length undershirt) and here are some other great alternatives. The belt is old school Abercrombie & Fitch and heels are Elsie pumps by J.Crew.
My pants are one of my fave buys as of late from Club Monaco - they're a rose-grey color and have a hint of sheen that are the perfect backdrop for any neutral outfit.
My hijab is the Perfect Everyday Scarf in Sand - it's returning soon! As always, you can shop our current collection of scarves and wraps anytime ;)

I grew up always seeing the Waldorf in movies so I was so excited to see this New York institution for myself! It definitely did not disappoint, even the entrance is luxurious!

How beautiful is the decor? So classy!
After snapping a few shots we quickly made our way to Peacock Alley - the restaurant that made the Waldorf salad famous! The real Waldorf salad is made entirely of apples and puts to shame all other Waldorf salads I've ever had! If you're in NYC, you definitely need to stop at Peacock Alley to taste this classic - it won't disappoint!
I got the filet for lunch and it was so scrumptious! It was surrounded with spring pea red chili succotash and pickled mushrooms on sweet corn puree. Yum!!
After lunch the wonderful people at the Waldorf surprised us with Red Velvet Cupcakes, (they were sooo good and I'm not a dessert person!) signature Waldorf macaroons and their 'Top of the Roof' honey! On the roof of the Waldorf, there are six beehives with 300,000 bees! The honey made is used in the food served at the hotel as well as in facials at the Guerlain Spa - how cool is that?
After lunch, I made my way up to the beautiful Guerlain Spa for a much needed deep tissue massage - and the entire experience was amazing. I have to say, after frequenting some luxury spa's in Dubai I was curious as to whether the Guerlain Spa would live up to my now spoiled expectations (thanks Dubai, lol). Let me say that the entire experience from the opulent spa lobby to the serene waiting room with complimentary drinks to the over-the-top treatment room complete with my own vanity and shower (not to mention Guerlain products!) to choosing my marvelously smelling massage oil definitely exceeded my expectations ;)
The treatment itself was phenomenal - definitely ask for the lead therapist Cindi - she's the best! After the treatment I had 20 minutes in the treatment room to myself to shower and freshen up before I headed over to the steam room to get my sweat on (I usually try and do this before the treatment, but didn't have much time)!
A great added bonus to the experience is after your treatment, you'll be pampered with a complimentary make-up refresher using all Guerlain products! This is something I've never come across at any other spa, so the unexpected bonus was not just innovative but also practical!
Hope you enjoyed the pics and a huge thank you to the Waldorf Astoria! Be sure to watch the footage of our day below!
