I'm not the *biggest* fan of jumpsuits, but when I saw this beauty at J.Crew (sold out but this is a great option) I knew it was one I could work that would be a great piece for special occasions. I love the velvet texture and adorable triangle cut-out in the back. I added a white collared shirt for coverage (with jumpsuits, I always opt for coverage with layers under the jumpsuit, rather than over it) with our Perfect Satin Hijab in Pearl. Now that I've got the base of the look covered, it's time to dress it up with accessories!
I love me a good necklace party! I layered two necklaces (surprise, surprise - also J.Crew! Super old, but I love (and own!) this and this necklace) with crystal, black and tassel details but still needed something on my waist to keep from looking like I was getting swallowed up by the jumpsuit. I tied a ribbon from one of my Fresh boxes (save those fancy ribbons you get - they make great accessories!) and fastened it with a crystal brooch. Then I took a super long pearl necklace I own, and layered it over the ribbon for a luxe look.
The final step was the shoes - I had these Edelman strappy heels forever and probably only wore them a few times. (The laces used to be black but the leather stripped off and underneath is raw twine that I actually like better. Love the contrast!) There was still something missing so when I got to work, Gizelle let me borrow her earrings and strung them around the laces to tie in the rest of the accessories. There you have it! A fun, elevated look in a luxe jumpsuit. Enjoy! xoxo, Mel
