When I woke up on Saturday and saw the rain my immediate reaction was noooooooo - BUT it all worked out. I *loved* the misty, moody feel captured in these photos taken by my friend Zaina Mahmoud. She was in town from Detroit and I loved that we got together to shoot AND we went to the Christian Siriano show together - which was AMAZING. 

I'm wearing a TON of oldies - I've had this Ralph Lauren 2 piece suit with a velvet vest and tweed blazer since college. I remember my mom got it for me on my birthday and I was ecstatic. Growing up, my mom and I went shopping together A LOT and I always stopped at the Ralph Lauren section of whatever department store we were in to 'ooh' and 'aah' at the beautifully clothed mannequins draped in RL. This was one such moment - my mom took note and got me the entire outfit (the pants, the silk shirt, vest and blazer) I saw on the mannequin. I COULD HAVE DIED. (Sidenote: my DREAM is to attend a RL show at fashion week).

All these years later it's still just as sharp. I added another blazer I wore last season from Zara along with my Michael Kors lace-up boots (also from college) and an embellished belt I got from Abercrombie years ago. I *love* the fact that I've had all these pieces in my closet for years and years and years and reinvented them into this beautiful outfit that works today. Major shop-your-closet points!
