The story behind this suede skirt is kinda cute. If you read it on Instagram already, then you can skip to the next paragraph ;) So I've actually had this suede skirt since high school if you can believe it. I'll never forget it - I was eyeing it for weeks and every time we went to the mall I stopped in to admire it, feel the suede and imagine all the things I'd wear with it. It was way beyond anything I could afford at the time. My birthday rolled around and my mom surprised me with it all wrapped up and beautiful. She taught me a valuable lesson even then, *always* value quality over quantity. If it's timeless, you'll keep it forever.
Case in point, I've had this skirt for over 15 years! Unfortunately, I couldn't not find a long-length suede or even leather skirt *anywhere* and my cropped sweater (I've been living in this) from Club Monaco is also sold out, but here and here are cute alternatives I also love!
I got this belt in Paris last summer - I went a little crazy at Louis Vuitton because the prices in Paris are *significantly* less expensive than here in the U.S. (or back in Dubai where I was living at the time). I realize you all can't take a trip to Paris to save on some LV goods, so this Tory Burch belt is an awesome alternative. It's reversible just like mine so you're really getting two belts in one! It comes in this 1 inch version as well as a 1.5 inch one here.
My pumps are Calvin Klein (they're currently 60% off!) and my lipstick is MAC Spirit (a warm, caramel nude that's been my go-to lately) and I'm wearing the Everyday Perfect Scarf in Camel. I've been wearing my Camel Scarf a *ton* lately - it goes so perfectly with neutrals, it's an instant a classic! Enjoy! xoxo, Mel
