Dear Haute Hijab fam,
What strange times we live in! How are you doing? I pray that each and every one of you is holding up okay despite the uncertainty of our world right now.
While the world grapples with the chaos of an unprecedented crisis, many of us are staying home, slowing down and welcoming the new season more quietly than in previous years. As the Visual Merchandiser at HH, it’s my job to highlight products and help you get inspired by the different options and new releases we carry. Using my product knowledge to help you get inspired and feel confident is my happy place – it’s what motivates me to do what I do.
But this is a very weird time to be inspired by fashion, and that leaves me at a bit of a loss. How do you get excited about a print or a color when literally everything feels frivolous? At the same time, though, why can’t we allow ourselves that which makes us feel happy? Why can’t we think about the better days that are, Insha’Allah, coming?
The way this virus has effectively cancelled or drastically altered so many aspects of our lives has been a communally traumatic experience. In spite of everything, though, there is so much to celebrate, from the flowers blooming outside, to the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan. There’s a lot to be said for finding a sense of normalcy wherever we can get it.
It may seem unnecessary when most of us are not really going anywhere, but taking a little bit of time to get dressed can still have a positive impact on our outlook for the day. Feeling confident and expressing ourselves with a beautiful print, or treating a loved one to a thoughtful gift, can become some of the ways we practice self-care.

While few things feel certain right now, I know that there are better days ahead, Insha’Allah.
Many prayers for health, safety, and a blessed Ramadan to you all. With love,
