This was my first every NYFW and it wouldn't have been possible without Hanan (our previous Hijabi of the Month) who came down from Ottawa and asked me to join her at some shows! Heba (also a previous HOTM and spotted veteran) just moved to New York so it was a Lebanese squad made in heaven!

Hanan scored an invitation to the Rebecca Minkoff show where we somehow found our way to the front and scored some *major* hijabi representation points!

The show was incredible! Rebecca shut down Prince street in SoHo and made the famous cobblestone side street right outside her store her runway - complete with a live band and VIP guest list!

All the final looks came down topped in signature Rebecca Minkoff leather jackets.

We also sat across from my absolute ultimate style icon - Olivia Palermo!!! Seriously, check out my Style Inspo Pinterest board - she takes over the entire board with her amazing street style!

Later that day Heba and I met Sazan Hendrix! AHH!!! I don't follow a ton of bloggers, but she's someone I absolutely love - and she was exactly as she is on social media, so down to earth and relatable <3

For my second day of NYFW I attended Anniesa Hasibuan's groundbreaking show. I kept it classy in a sleek black turtleneck and black wide leg trousers as well as this elaborate neck piece from River Island that I got years ago. There was something electric in the room that night. Attending show after show with models baring skin for the upcoming Spring/Summer '17 season, the striking contrast of Anniesa's designs were noteworthy to even the most nonchalant of observers. We all knew we were witnessing something groundbreaking. That night, Anniesa made history as the first Muslim designer to showcase all her designs on a NYFW main stage in full-on, head-to-toe hijab.
