I've put together a few of my favorite things based on a few posts from our Instagram account @hautehijab. Check out my favorite things, why they're awesome and where you can get them!
If you know me personally, you know I'm obsessed with my Rosebud Salve. I've been using it since high school and it's always on hand. It's the best all-purpose lip balm out there and smells like roses - what's not to love?
Argan oil is my new obsession - it's an oil produced from the seeds of the argan tree, native to Morocco - and has so many uses! I mainly use it for the ends of my hair, but you can also add a couple drops to your moisturizer for a subtle glow - or use it as an overnight moisturizer if you have dry skin before you apply your night cream. My favorite use is over concealer on my lips. I love a pale lip, and often use concealer but since it's so dry the oil gives me the perfect consistency! This one is by Josie Maran from Sephora although there's a bunch of argan oil products out there, just make sure it's 100% argan oil.
Lately I've been into lipsticks that match my exact lip color. This pink shade from YSL (Delicate Nude Pink #6) is the perfect color to subtly enhance my natural lip color without being too loud. While I usually opt for MAC when it comes to lipstick, every now and then I treat myself to a little luxury ;)
The Power of Habit is an extraordinary book that changes the way you think and act - in a very good way! It posits that habits are so deep rooted in the brain that they can't be eradicated, rather changed. It really challenges the way you think about the most everyday actions to the most complex processes.
The Famous Women in Islam CD Set by Dr. Umar Faruq Abdallah is definitely a game-changer. I got it as a gift from a dear friend and listened to the entire set twice. Dr. Umar really challenges our preconceived notions about women in Islam and tackles some tough issues with his breadth of knowledge and unique voice. I cannot stress how necessary this cd-set is for everyone - women and men alike!
Like most of you, I love to adorn my house with yummy smelling candles. Fall time is my favorite season when it comes to candle scents (Pumpkin Caramel Latte anyone?) and this yummy candle by Capri Blue in Volcano is my hands-down, all-time favorite. The scent is tropical fruits meets lemons and limes meets exotic mountain greens (yes, please!). It's a classic scent that I spoil myself with every time it runs out. You can purchase it at Anthropologie in the classic blue jar or in this gorgeous mercury glass jar for a retro-vibe.
The famous Beauty Blender in the repertoire of every make-up artist is now available at Sephora! This little beauty bomb used to be available online only, but now you can purchase it in-store - awesome. While I don't wear foundation, I do wear concealer religiously due to my dark under-eye circles and this blender is the perfect tool to help set my concealer.
The newest addition to my dresser repertoire is this huge glass jar I purchased at Crate & Barrel for my most-loved jewels! I love the fact that it's clear glass so I can see all my treasures inside. I was sure to only include my largest items to keep from tangling. Love when function meets aesthetic!
