Diamonds Star of the East is located on the northern most tip of Zanzibar in Nungwi - where the most beautiful white sand beaches are located. This is our Villa - we had villa number 1 for optimal privacy ;)
Our resort was a *dream* - it was hands down the most beautiful private villa we've stayed at to date! There was a separate living room, fully loaded kitchen, walk-in closet, large bedroom, indoor and outdoor shower and beautiful bath overlooking the pool!
The decor was immaculate - no detail was overlooked!
The best thing about this private resort is that there's no more than 20 couples on the resort at one time so many times we felt like we had the resort all to ourselves. This is the shared resort pool that's overlooked by one of the amazing restaurants.
One of my favorite beach ready outfits - my Zara leopard maxi skirt, a black long-sleeve tee with my J.Crew statement necklace and solid camel scarf.
Many beaches at resorts in Zanzibar can get flooded by beach boys selling different items, so the nice thing about this resort is that there's a private beach exclusive to the guests at the resort and then the lower beach where you can still buy things if you want :)
We actually enjoyed talking to the beach boys and they had some great things for sale (I got an awesome scarf and some famous Zanzibar coffee) - it was really cool getting to know them and asking them about their views on all things Zanzibar!
The jetty with the most amazing seafood restaurant on the resort and a lounge with a pool table and hookah at night.
Ahmed and I before our private cooking class! I'm wearing the Pretty Pleated Skirt in Floral.
I like to keep things simple in hot weather (it was suppperrr hot) so I paired the skirt with a white long-sleeve tee, a statement necklace from Anthropologie and matching wrap.
Our private cooking lesson with Michelin star chef Luca Marchini - he taught us how to make wine-free risotto and scallops!
The staff at the resort was amazing - they arranged this romantic private dinner for us on the beach and let us pick our own menu!
Waiting for the sunset ;)
We got so sunburnt!
Our little slice of heaven ;)
One thing that was a little disappointing was our plunge pool that was only a few feet deep - you couldn't actually swim, but there was a jacuzzi so that made up for it ;) But when we wanted to truly swim we had to use the shared pool or go to the beach.
