I for one *love* cooking competition shows and when Amanda called me up to tell me she was going to be competing on Master Chef - I nearly died! I'm so so proud of her and can't WAIT to watch her compete!!! The first show airs tomorrow on Wednesday, May 20th at 8pm on Fox where Amanda will be battling for a highly coveted white apron!

Here she is in her chef coat in the HH Essentials Everyday Wrap - Watermelon and in the Ethereal Dream Wrap below!

Originally from Dearborn, Michigan, Amanda lives in Seattle with her husband Hussein, where she works as a social worker in a downtown hospital. Her work focuses on issues concerning women and children.

Amanda has loved to cook and bake since she was a young child, beginning with her easy bake oven. She has learned the fundamentals of cooking from her mother and grandmother and has expanded her skill set to include modernist techniques.

Amanda will be competing in the largest culinary competition in the world; MasterChef. She's the first Hijabi on the U.S. version of the show! Amanda aims to inspire others to pursue their passions and do what they believed to be impossible. You'll never know until you try! Below, she talks to Chef Gordon Ramsay in the Bora Bora Escape Wrap!

Don't forget to tune in tomorrow on FOX at 8pm to watch Amanda compete and be sure to check out her blog www.amandasplate.com and follow her on IG @amandasplate!
