Haute Hijab Style Guide: How to Shop Fashion Trends
February 12, 2012
Everyone loves shopping the latest fashion trends and we at Haute Hijab are no exception. Read on for our guide on how to shop fashion trends the smart way!
1) Don't Break the Bank
Trends are aptly called "trends" because they come and go. Save your money for more foundational pieces in your wardrobe that will last you years to come. (Read our post on "Wardrobe Essentials for Every Hijabi" for a better understanding of foundational wardrobe pieces).

2) Combine Trends
Get the most out of your statement pieces by combining two trends into one garment or accessory. White and lace are hot new trends off the Spring and Summer 2012 runways. Combine these two with a white lace dress! Bonus if you can combine three like the ASOS top above combining tangerine, polka dot and lace!

3) Stick to One Garment per Trend
Don't feel the need to buy every animal print top/blazer/skirt you see in favor of the safari trend. Once you've scored a killer trend piece, get the most out of it by working it in different ways. See how Tory Burch works the bold floral trend and (twofer!) tie-blouse in three different ways!
4) Accessorize
Not ready to dive into this Spring's graphic floral trend? Not a fan of wearing animal prints? A great way to incorporate trends into your wardrobe is through accessorizing. It's low-commitment with big impact. A leopard purse, bold scarf or bright yellow belt are great ways to get into trends without letting them take over.
5) Stay True to Yourself
Regardless of the fashion trend of the moment, the best piece of advice is to stay true to yourself. Don't see yourself ever donning tribal prints? Forget it. If you're not comfortable in your clothes it will translate into your actions. Having a good sense of your own style and truly knowing yourself is the best companion when shopping for trendy pieces.
